Control what stays in your browser
Understand local cropping, optional history, and the limits of deleting a search.

There are three different parts of a search to understand: preparing the photo on your device, submitting it to the provider, and choosing whether to save the results locally.
Preparing a photo
Choosing, dragging, and zooming a photo happens in your browser. The crop is not sent to FaceCheck.ID while you adjust it. After you confirm the processing statements and complete checkout, the cropped image is submitted through the service.
The local walkthrough uses included illustrations. It does not submit a photo, contact the search provider, or use a search credit.
Saving a search
History is off by default. If you enable it in Settings → Privacy choices, cropped photos and result metadata are saved in this browser’s local database. They are not synchronized to your other devices.
Use a private device if you choose to save searches. Anyone who can access the same browser profile may be able to see the saved history.
Deleting local history
You can remove an individual saved search, clear the full history, or turn optional history off. Turning history off asks you to confirm deletion of existing entries. Clearing site data in browser settings also removes local copies.
Deleting history has limits. It does not remove the source website, clear provider records, or erase backend credit transactions. A result still open on screen may remain in memory until you leave or reload the page.
Keep your support reference
Your browser holds a random reference and secret for search credits. Clearing all site data or moving to another browser can remove access to those credits. If you need support, use the short reference shown in Settings. Never send the browser secret.
For provider processing, retention, rights requests, and complaints, read the Privacy Policy and Biometric Search Notice. They explain what is handled locally and what is handled by other services.
